Founded in 2001, Mild Pulp began as a side project for Alex Mercer, who was already making waves in the indie scene with another band. The name 'Mild Pulp' was inspired by a line from a obscure novel, capturing the band's intention to create something both gentle and substantial. Their first EP, 'Whispers in the Wind', was a modest success, leading to their signing with a major indie label.
In 2004, Mild Pulp released their breakthrough album, 'Quiet Storm', featuring the hit single 'Silent Echoes'. The album's success was a turning point, allowing the band to tour nationally and gain a dedicated fanbase. Over the next few years, they released several more albums, each pushing the boundaries of their sound. Notable members include bassist Jamie Reed, whose dynamic playing style added depth to the band's music, and drummer Casey Lane, known for her energetic performances.
Throughout their career, Mild Pulp has won several awards, including 'Best Indie Rock Band' at the Annual Music Awards in 2008.
